Why do I keep having dreams of my mother dying? Two dreams differs times. First dream my mom was hut in 3 by I don’t know but I remember there being a hurricane or tornado and my father was alive whom is now passed. I remember crying saying no not you you are all I have and holding her trying to get her to come back cry screaming, “ wake up” please wake up over and over. I was down sitting with legs to side as she was lying on ground but it wasn’t dirt or floor I didn’t see or remember seeing what she was lying on. Then it flipped to my dad lying in bed with sickness saying it’s ok it will be okay. Still seeing my mom kinda like from afar but not. I was standing next to my dad and he was holding my hand lying in bed with a tube from his nose. That’s the only part I remember but it felt like forever. Second dream was again of mother dying and dad alive but is passed in this life. I don’t remember detail on this dream.
Dreams about the death of a loved one, especially a parent, can be particularly emotional and distressing. Given the details you've provided, here are some interpretations to consider:
Fear of Loss: The recurring theme of your mother dying may reflect a deep-seated fear of losing her. Since your father has already passed, this may amplify your anxiety about losing another significant parental figure in your life.
Processing Grief: Dreams can be a way to process and work through grief or unresolved feelings related to your father's death. Your mother's role in the dreams may symbolize your wish for her to be a source of comfort and strength during this emotional turmoil.
Feelings of Vulnerability: The imagery of storms (hurricane or tornado) may represent chaos or emotional upheaval in your life. This could relate to current events or situations where you feel vulnerable or threatened. Your mother’s presence in these dreams could signify a desire for protection or stability.
Symbolic Death: Sometimes, dreams of death are not literal but symbolize change or transformation. Your dreams could mirror your feelings about changing dynamics in your family, especially with the loss of your father. They may reflect a transition in your relationships or your own identity in response to these losses.
Regrets and Unfinished Business: If there are any unresolved issues or emotions surrounding your relationship with your mother or father, the dreams may be prompting you to address those feelings. This could be regret for things left unsaid or an urge to reconnect emotionally.
Seeking Reassurance: In the dreams, you pleading with your mother to wake up implies a strong desire for reassurance and hope. You may be looking for comfort during a turbulent time in your life.
Overall, it’s essential to reflect on your emotional state and what might be triggering these dreams. Considering the significant grief you’ve experienced with your father’s passing, it might be helpful to talk about these feelings with a trusted friend or a mental health professional. Exploring these emotions can provide clarity and potentially ease the intensity of the dreams.
